Job Description:
Porosome Therapeutics Inc., is seeking outstanding Epithelial Cell Biologists to join our drug discovery team in Boston, MA. These positions will focus on applying and developing epithelial cell biology techniques to support discovery and development of both small-molecule, stem cell based and porosome reconstitution therapies. We are looking for candidates with experience in Human Epithelia Lung Cell Biology using air-liquid-interface cultures and the use of Ussing Chamber system to measure chloride secretion. Ideal candidates have extensive hands-on experience in isolating primary human cells and the development of novel culture protocols, fluorescent imaging, as well as the development of disease relevant functional assays. As a Research Scientist, you will be working closely with senior research management to stay abreast of new scientific developments in epithelial biology, lung physiology, pathogenesis of pulmonary diseases. Using a combination of internal and external capabilities and resources, the successful candidate will develop a robust program to progress the ongoing therapies identified in the company and new approached to ameliorate or cure various pulmonary diseases such as CF and COPD, Additional responsibilities will include analyzing data, writing research reports and publications, and presenting results in oral format to varied audiences, including the scientific advisory board, consultants, scientists and academic collaborators, as well as internal and external stakeholders. The applicant will be integrated into a fast-paced drug discovery team that includes cell biologists, molecular biologists, pharmacologists, biochemists, structural biologists and engineers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D., /MD in Cell or Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Genetics or related field. Proficiency in cellular and molecular biology techniques, fluorescent microscopy, and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
