Lars Larsson, MD, PhD

Dr. Lars Larsson is a Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, and a Senior Consultant in Clinical Neuroscience at the Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska Hospital, in Stockholm, Sweden. He was a Professor and Chair of Clinical Neurophysiology, Uppsala University Hospital.
Professor Lars Larsson has identified the first ICU patient with critical illness myopathy in Sweden about 20 years ago and has since then studied the mechanisms underlying this acquired myopathy, developing new diagnostic tools and introducing novel intervention strategies.
